In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Milind Deora, Minister of State for Communications and IT, has said that several operators, including Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India have to pay Rs 5.50 billion as outstanding interconnection usage charges to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Deora also said that Spice Cellular, Aircel and Dishnet have outstanding dues to settle with the incumbent.
Of the amount mentioned, Bharti Airtel owes Rs 1.69 billion, Idea Cellular Rs 1.21 billion and Vodafone India has Rs 0.49 billion as outstanding dues.
