SEPC has secured an order worth Rs 3.14 billion from Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) for the implementation of a smart prepaid metering project in Punjab (central zone) under the centre’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The Chennai-based SEPC operates across water and municipal services, roads, industrial infrastructure and mining.
The scope of the project includes the design, deployment, integration, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance of advanced metering infrastructure for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), in line with the tender conditions and relevant scheme guidelines.
As per the company, payments will be executed on a back-to-back basis, linked to specified monthly, quarterly and annual milestones during the post operational go-live phase. SEPC added that the project enhances its order book momentum and strengthens its footprint in the power distribution and metering infrastructure segment.
Additionally, the build own operate transfer (BOOT) model is expected to improve long-term revenue visibility, while continued public sector investments in power reforms and digital infrastructure provide growth support.
