As per ICRA, the Supreme Court’s (SC) dismissal of telcos’ review petition on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) payouts is credit negative for the telecom sector.
According to the credit rating agency, government intervention would be needed to safeguard the viability of existing operators, ensuring continued investments in technology, spectrum.
Further, the government would also require to take steps in order to prevent any cascading impact on ancillary sectors and financial system, ICRA said.
