As per industry sources, the Supreme Court has rejected the government’s plea challenging a refund of Rs 1.04 billion to Reliance Communications (RCOM).

Earlier in December 2018, the Telecommunications Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) had ordered the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to refund RCOM the remainder amount after encashing bank guarantees worth Rs 9.08 billion against spectrum charges of Rs 7.74 billion.

DoT had already adjusted Rs 303.3 million and the remaining amount of Rs 1.04 billion remained unadjusted.
