The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the modification applications filed by Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) seeking an extension of the January 23, 2020 deadline for payment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues.
The case is likely to be heard next week by a bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra.
Recently, the three telcos had filed modification applications after the Supreme Court rejected their pleas to review its order dated October 23, 2019 pertaining to AGR dues.
The move comes as a relief for the telcos, which have also sought permission for negotiating the terms and conditions and schedules for payment along with a waiver of penalties in addition to seeking an extension of the payment deadline.
While Bharti Airtel has to pay Rs 355.86 billion to the government by the January 23 deadline, Vodafone Idea and TTSL have to pay Rs 500 billion and Rs 140 billion respectively.
