Saudi Arabia’s Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), in which Kuwait-based mobile operator Zain owns 25 per cent stake, is likely to begin operations in the second half of 2008.

Operations were earlier scheduled to begin in the first half of 2008. MTC has awarded a $935 million contract to NSN for building 2G and 3G mobile networks.
