Stakeholders in the satellite communications space including satellite operators; satellite systems, launch vehicles, and ground and terminal equipment makers; and application solutions providers have formed a non-profit industry body called Satcom Industry Association (SiA-India) to represent a unified voice for the satellite communications ecosystem in India.

As the apex representative body for the satcom ecosystem, SiA-India aims to represent the interests of the industry to high-level government authorities in policy-making, regulatory as well as licensing matters.

According to Subba Rao Pavuluri, president, SiA-India and chairman and managing director, Ananth Technologies Limited, SiA-India has been formed to carry the unified voice of this industry to the government, regulators, international bodies to carry policy-level interventions to ensure the success of businesses. It is this need that SIA-India is set to fulfil.
