According to Devusinh Chauhan, minister of state for communications, satellite communications has a critical role to play in providing last-mile connectivity in India.

Use cases of satellite should emerge in each sector, including home entertainment, agriculture, logistics, and more, akin to the application of both 4G and 5G mobile networks in various verticals, he added.

Furthermore, he added that telecom business in India was heavily reliant on imports earlier. However, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, the country is already producing telecom products and technology, as well as preparing for the next generation of telecom technology.
