Sahasra Semiconductors intends to invest Rs 7.50 billion in setting up a memory chip unit at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan. With this move, the electronic firm expects to become the first company to set up a memory chip assembly, test and packaging unit in the country and start selling locally-made chips by December 2022.

The investment of Rs 7.50 billion will be done in two phases. During the first phase, the company will invest Rs 1.50 billion in FY’2022-23 for setting up the ATMP facility in Elcina manufacturing cluster in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The second investment phase of Rs 6 billion will be executed once the company enters into the revenue range of Rs 2.50-3billion

Meanwhile, the company expects the first full financial year of the company’s commercial production to generate revenue of around Rs 500million, which is expected to grow to Rs 5 billion by FY’2025-26.
