Sachin Goyal
Regional Sales Head-North and East, Nxtra Data Limited

Sachin Goyal has been associated with the technology and data centre industry for more than 17 years. At present, he is the regional head, north and east at Nxtra Data Limited. He is responsible for building and driving go-to market strategies to increase market penetration in order to build long-term business and marketing opportunities, and increase year-on-year revenue. In the past, Goyal has worked at CtrlS as well as other data centre service providers.

Goyal believes that the biggest challenge for Nxtra is ensuring the adoption of sustainable practices and access to reliable and affordable power. “Data centres have high energy demand and carbon emissions, which can make it difficult to meet green commitments,” he notes. Nonetheless, he believes that the demand for data centres is growing rapidly, and India’s data centre industry is expected to grow to $9.27 billion by 2027. “This growth is driven by the country’s digital transformation efforts, widespread internet access and transition to 5G networks. The government is also prioritising data centre infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted internet access, data security and cloud computing,” says Goyal.

According to him, technologies such as 5G can help improve data processing and communication efficiency. Further, he feels that artificial intelligence is driving huge demand for data centres. Goyal opines that hyperscale data centres support the needs of companies that process large amounts of data, while edge computing is witnessing a rising trend as data centre architecture uses network edge devices to reduce latency and improve performance for internet of things devices. “Data centres are updating their infrastructure to meet global growth. Customers are looking to pack more computing power into smaller spaces,” he adds.

Speaking about his most memorable assignment, he says, “I was given an opportunity to work with a large Nxtra-Bharti Airtel team in North and East India. Driving Nxtra’s business across multiple teams excited me the most.”

Goyal describes his management style as flexible, adaptive and tailored to meet the needs and objectives of the organisation. “I strongly believe in and promote an environment of open feedback and communication, and I invest in building future-ready leaders in the ecosystem.”

Goyal has a bachelor’s degree in science and an MBA in marketing management from Gautam Buddha Technical University. When not working, he likes to watch movies and go for long walks on the weekends. His family comprises his parents, his wife and their son.
