Rohan Sheth is vice-president of Colocation and DC Build at Yotta Data Services Private Limited. As the head of the real estate and colocation business unit, his responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of activities. He explores new markets and partnerships for data centre expansion, negotiates joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and land transactions, and oversees legal and regulatory compliance for new ventures. He also develops data centre business plans, leads colocation solutioning, productisation, pricing and go-to-market strategies, and facilitates deal closures with hyperscale and enterprise clients. Sheth’s strengths lie in collaboration, teamwork, subject matter expertise and decision-making.
Sheth has many years of experience behind him and extensive expertise in commercial real estate and data centre management. Of his career spanning more than two decades, 16 years have been dedicated to commercial real estate and six to data centre management. His career trajectory has been marked by a series of achievements and he has made significant contributions to various organisations in the fields of marketing, real estate transactions and data centre operations. One of his most memorable assignments was overseeing the development of Yotta’s Greater Noida campus amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the constraints, he successfully secured customer confirmation, orchestrated site selection via drone footage, and oversaw the construction and delivery of the data centre within 20 months.
Currently, Sheth’s primary focus is on expanding Yotta’s footprint in the hyperscale data centre market across India and globally. His goal is to establish over 100 Tier II and Tier III city data centres in the country and explore opportunities for expansion in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe. He is actively involved in studying micro-markets and forging partnerships to set up data centres and cloud nodes in these regions. With a keen eye on industry trends, Sheth foresees significant developments in 5G technology and satellite internet communication. He is actively engaged in collaborating with companies to establish satellite receiving stations and edge nodes across India, aligning Yotta with the evolving telecom landscape.
Sheth has a bachelor’s degree in production engineering from Mumbai University. He is an outdoors enthusiast, enjoying activities such as trekking, deep-sea diving, marathons and cycling trips in his spare time. He lives with his parents, his wife and their delightful eight year old daughter, cherishing family time amidst his busy professional endeavours.
