Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has approached the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to conduct trials for its 4G services, along with the security agencies. As per the rules, a legal interception and monitoring test of the network across circles is conducted before launch of telecom services by any operator.
RJIL had earlier announced the launch of 4G services in 2015 to cover 5,000 towns and cities as well as 215,000 villages in the first phase. It is the only operator to hold a pan-India broadband wireless access spectrum used for 4G services. Further, the company also acquired spectrum in 1800 MHz band in February 2014 auctions across 14 out of 22 service areas in the country.
