Firming up its 4G rollout plans, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) is testing 4G services across 10 locations in the country. Over the next few days, the company plans double the number of testing sites to 20.
The tests are being conducted for offering 4G services over Wi-Fi and optical fibre cable across the locations. The tests are being carried out in locations spread across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
RJIL, which holds 1800 MHz of spectrum across 14 circles and 2300 MHz of spectrum across 22 circles, plans to launch 4G services by October 2014. In addition to telecom services, it is also planning to offer TV channels on its 4G network.
