RingCentral, Inc. has appointed Sathesh Murthy as managing director (MD), India, and head of engineering. Murthy was most recently vice president, Product Development, and India site leader at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Prior to that, he was MD and vice president of engineering at Informatica India. In his new role, Murthy will focus on growing RingCentral’s engineering organisation in India and accelerating innovation.
Commenting on the appointment, Mo Katibeh, president and chief operating officer, RingCentral, said, “RingCentral is expanding rapidly to bring the benefits of cloud business communications to customers around the world, and we see India as an important market for our international expansion. We are excited to have Sathesh on board as MD to lead our India-based engineering organisation as we scale for growth, to transform our innovation centres in India into centers of excellence, and to become a major new research and development (R&D) hub.”
Murthy, an industry veteran with 27 years of experience, joins RingCentral from Oracle where he led the artifical intelligence (AI) and data services engineering organisation to build a comprehensive set of cloud services for today’s data driven enterprises to effectively manage their data assets and build modern AI/machine learning (ML) led analytics solutions. He also served as the site leader for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in India where he led several organisation-wide strategic programs to build a 3000+ strong engineering organisation, foster a culture of innovation and drive ownership. Prior to Oracle, Murthy, who was vice president and MD of Informatica India, led the development of Informatica’s flagship Enterprise Data Catalog and Governance products.

Murthy joins a growing RingCentral India team, working closely with Rajeev Singh Rathore, vice president, Cloud Operations, who is spearheading the launch of unified communications as a service (UCaaS), contact centre as a service (CCaaS), and cloud-based PBX services, including internet telephony services, in India.
