RIL to bid in the upcoming 2G spectrum auction, had participated in pre-bid conference

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is likely to participate in the forthcoming 2G spectrum auction to be held in November 2012, say news reports.

The company had participated in the pre-bid conference organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in the run-up to the auction.

RIL’s decision to bid for the 2G auction will add the facility of voice calls to its wireless broadband services business. The company holds licences to offer high-speed internet broadband through Infotel Broadband.
