Reliance Industries (RIL) has started operationalising its artificial intelligence (AI) subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, and has begun hiring AI and machine learning engineers to work on Indic-language models and new product incubation. The new unit will be led by the chief AI scientist at Reliance Jio, a former AI researcher.

Reliance Intelligence was incorporated in September 2025 as a wholly owned subsidiary of RIL. The entity will house the group’s AI initiatives, including partnerships with global technology firms such as Google and Meta, and will also play a role in executing Reliance’s data centre plans.
