Bharti Airtel has acquired 2.03 million mobile subscribers in August, taking its total in the country to 141.3 million. Vodafone Essar, the country’s third-largest mobile phone operator netted 2.3 million subscribers to have a total of 113.8 million, while sixth-ranked operator Idea Cellular added 1.99 million subscribers to have a total of 72.7 million. New player Uninor has added 2.2 million new subscribers, thereby taking its total user base to nearly 9.1 million.
