
Reliance Telecom, a subsidiary of Reliance Communications (RCOM), has received the approval of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to provide CDMA services under the existing UASL for the Assam and Northeast service areas. This is in addition to the existing GSM services provided by RCOM’s subsidiary. Meanwhile, Reliance Infratel, the tower subsidiary of RCOM, is planning to increase its telecom towers to 100,000 by financial year 2010. Reliance Infratel currently has over 36,849 towers.
