Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), has accused Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) of exploiting the legitimate payout obligations and not representing the views of industry.
The move follows the COAI’s letter to telecom minister seeking relief for Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea due to unprecedented crisis in the industry.
As per COAI, rejecting the plea to help the telco can lead to deterioration in quality of services, affecting investments and government revenue and further may create monopolies in the industry.
To this end, Jio has also questioned the financial stress claimed by Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel and urged the government not to bail out these two operators.
