
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has stated that it will launch its 4G services in the country in December 2015. The operator holds pan-BWA spectrum required for offering 4G which it acquired in the 2010 spectrum auctions.
The company has already begun 4G trials and a beta version of the service will be started over the next few months before the full-fledged commercial launch in December. The company is also working with device makers to offer 4G enabled smartphones and tablets at less than $100.
RJIL?s parent company Reliance Industries Limited has earmarked a part of Rs 2 trillion capex for setting up a new telecom business over the next one year.
