Reliance Jio Infocomm, a unit of Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Industries, has signed a tower sharing deal worth Rs 120 billion with Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM), the flagship firm owned by Anil Ambani.

As part of the deal, Reliance Jio Infocomm will utilise upto 45,000 ground and rooftop based-towers across RCOM?s nationwide network for rolling out 4G services in early 2014.

The agreement between the two companies provides for joint working arrangements to explore the scope of building additional towers at new locations.

The new partnership follows another infrastructure sharing deal inked by the two companies in April 2013. Earlier, the companies had signed a Rs 12 billion agreement which allowed Reliance Jio Infocomm to utilise RCOM?s optical fibre network spread across the country for rolling out its 4G services.
