Reliance Jio has deployed an additional 15MHz spectrum across Karnataka for enhancing subscriber experience. With this, Jio will be able to double the bandwidth available for usage in the 850MHz band and enhance the 2300MHz band by 25 per cent.

As on date, Jio has gone ahead with the deployment of all the three spectrums across all 223,000 sites spread across the state, the telco said. Further, Jio added that due to increasing demand for 4G towers in the state, it is expanding its 4G network in Karnataka by 28 per cent in 2021.

In a similar development, Jio has successfully implemented additional 20 MHz spectrum across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.  This would add upto the existing 40 MHz spectrum and enhance the total spectrum availability in the region by 50 per cent.  In the recently concluded spectrum auctions, Jio had acquired 5 MHz of 850MHz band; 5MHz of 1800MHz band; and 10 MHz of 2300 MHz band for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to the telco, as of now it has gone ahead with deployment of all the three spectrums across all its sites spread across both the states. As a result, all the customers in the region would be benefitted with immediate effect.
