According to the latest data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio continued to retained its top position with the highest average data download speed of 21.9 Mbps among 4G service providers in October 2021.
Further, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) registered close to two and a half times jump in the data download speed on their network. The two operators have been recording a continuous increase in data download speed thereby reducing the gap with the Jio network.
Airtel 4G download speed increased from 5 Mbps in June 2021 to 13.2 Mbps in October 2021. Meanwhile, Vi 4G download speed increased from 6.5 Mbps in June 2021 to 15.6 Mbps in October 2021.
Also, Vi maintained its leadership in terms of 4G upload speed in October 2021. The telco recorded an upload speed of 7.6 Mbps, the highest in the last five months.
Likewise, Airtel and Jio network also recorded their five-month high of 5.2 Mbps and 6.4 Mbps 4G data upload speed in October 2021.
