Reliance Communications has completed the testing of unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) platform to provide mobile banking services to its customers. RCOM has assembled the integrated National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) gateways with its charging systems and USSD gateways. The NPCI will manage the banking menu and call flow with banks to complete the transactions for RCOM customers.

The facility will allow RCOM?s subscribers to access banking services across 29 nationalised banks with a through their mobile number at the price of Rs 1.50 per USSD session. Currently, the service will be restricted to basic banking services, including low-value bill payments.
