RCOM’s hived-off tower arm, Reliance Telecom Infrastructure Limited (RTIL), and Swan Telecom are expected to finalise a 15year infrastructure sharing deal by March 2009. According to the proposed agreement, RCOM will lend 13,000 tenancy slots to Swan in the first year, which will go up to about 20,000 slots by the second year. In five years, the number of tenancy slots is likely to go up to about 45,000. RTIL is reportedly also in talks with other new players like Datacom, Sistema Shyam and Loop Telecom for passive infrastructure sharing.
