With the aim of enhancing its GSM network, Reliance Communications (RCOM) has begun signing several intra-circle roaming pacts with various operators. The first contract has been signed with Aircel in certain key circles.
The process is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of the ongoing financial year.
Once in place, these pacts are expected to enable the operator’s 2G GSM customers to roam seamlessly on all partner networks. Also, these agreements are expected to increase RCOM’s national 2G GSM network footprint by 10,000 base stations.
