
Reliance Communications (RCOM) has demonstrated 3G services in Himachal, thereby paving the way for a commercial launch of 3G services in the state, according to news reports.
In so far, the company has launched 3G services in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Punjab and has demonstrated these services in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. It aims at launching 3G in the 13 circles it obtained spectrum in, in order to have a pan-India 3G footprint.
According to Prashant Gokarn, Head, 3G, RCOM, the company has rolled out 3G services in around 100 days of receiving spectrum in the major metros. He added that by the end of this week, RCOM will, in Himachal, offer 3G services in Shimla, Solan, Baddi, Nalagarh,Mandi, Paonta Sahib, Kullu, Palampur, Hamirpur, Kangra,Dalhousie, Dharamshala and Una.
