RCOM and China Telecom have launched a terrestrial cable connecting East Asia with the Indian subcontinent. The terabit capacity cable, between Siliguri in India and Yadong in China via Nathu La, will provide an alternative route for telecom connectivity between India, China, Hong Kong and the Far East. Earlier, connectivity between the two countries was routed through undersea cable routes via Hong Kong or Singapore.
