RCL, in partnership with Reliance Bahrain, a subsidiary of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has bid for Bahrain’s national fixed wireless services licence. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain would allot the licence by January 8, 2007, and in two frequency bands ?? 3,410-3,455 MHz (paired with 3,500-3,545 MHz) and 3,455-3,500 Mhz (paired with 3,545-3,590 MHz). RCL is the only Indian company to have entered the fray with seven other global telecom companies ?? ATCO Clearwire Telecom of Bahrain, Bahrain Telecommunications, Etisalcom Wireless of Bahrain, Mena Telecom (an investment subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House), Kalaam Telecom Bahrain, MTCVodafone and Nuetel Communications.
