RCL has awarded a $700 million equipment contract to ZTE Corporation for its proposed GSM foray. Under the contract, ZTE would supply GSM equipment, including base transceiver stations (BTSs), receivers and softswitches. ZTE is also reportedly supplying technology and equipment to RCL for conducting beta tests on GSM lines.
