Rashmin Vyawahare, SVP, Strategy and BIS, CloudExtel
Rashmin Vyawahare comes with over two decades of experience across telecom infrastructure, digital transformation and venture capital investing. Currently, he serves as a senior vice president (SVP) in corporate strategy at CloudExtel, where he is involved in long-term strategy, lead fundraising efforts, evaluating inorganic opportunities, and overseeing AI- and automation-led initiatives across the business.
“CloudExtel is a fast growing telecom infrastructure company with ambitious 10x growth plans. The biggest challenge is balancing this momentum with high quality capital – telecom infrastructure requires sustained investment, and ensuring the right mix of equity and debt at the right time is critical. An equally important priority is embedding AI and automation across operations so that the organisation scales intelligently and efficiently,” he adds.
Prior to joining CloudExtel, Vyawahare worked with organisations such as Jio, Aircel, Tata Communications and Reliance Capital. Across roles, he has led large-scale network roll-outs, secured significant equity and debt funding, driven automation initiatives, and developed enterprise go-to-market strategies.
His outlook on the telecom and technology sector is shaped by broad structural shifts such as rapid 5G proliferation, deeper AI-cloud integration, wider rural connectivity, energy-efficient infrastructure and a growing domestic device manufacturing ecosystem. These trends, he believes, will accelerate digital adoption, expand access, and open new innovation landscapes for enterprises and consumers alike.
Vyawahare’s strengths lie in structured, data-driven decision-making and a natural inclination to break down complex problems into scalable solutions. He balances analytical rigour with cross-functional collaboration and places strong emphasis on empowering teams to take ownership. He further notes, “I am consciously working on pacing expectations and creating room for teams to find their own rhythm.” His management style emphasises autonomy, clarity, transparent communication and early feedback, with a strong reliance on data to guide decisions.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University and a postgraduate diploma in wireless telecommunications from Humber College, Toronto. Based in Mumbai, he spends his spare time reading about global business, technology and macroeconomic trends. “Staying active is important to me, so long walks and workouts are a regular part of my routine,” he adds.
His family comprises his wife and their 10-year old son. “We enjoy travelling, learning new things as a family, and spending quality time together.”
