Inmarsat has announced that Rajeev Suri will step down as CEO upon completion of the company’s acquisition by Viasat. Following the sale, Suri has been nominated by the shareholder consortium that acquired Inmarsat in 2019 to serve as board director of Viasat. Andrew Sukawaty, the chairman of Inmarsat, will also step down from his position upon completion of the acquisition and will join Viasat’s board of directors. Sukawaty served as chairman and CEO of Inmarsat from 2003 to 2011, and as chairman from 2011 to 2019. He continued to serve as chairman from 2019 to 2023.
