RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel) has signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and with University of Birmingham to establish a collaborative partnership in the fields skill development for railway signaling, telecommunication, information and communications technology (ICT) and development of digital twin for railway operation and maintenance respectively.
The collaboration with IIT Roorkee encompasses the launch of professional courses at RailTel’s centre of excellence (CoE), coupled with extensive research and development activities. The partnership extends to the creation and operation of a centre for safety assessment, forging a robust alliance.
Furthermore, the collaboration with University of Birmingham will open an opportunity for usage of cutting technology like digital twin in the field of proactive railway operation and maintenance.
