RailTel has received a work order worth Rs 279.1 million by Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL) for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of internet service provider (ISP) hardware, software, and licence for Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) project.

According to official sources, RailTel has completed the first phase of KFON implementation as the lead member in the consortium led by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

The order would enable the government of Kerala to deploy 250,000 million internet connections across the state.
