According to chairman and managing director (CMD), RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), the telecom segment income will grow by 8–9 per cent in 2026-27, supported mainly by improving performance in the national long distance (NLD) business.

Breaking down segment performance, RailTel reported telecom revenues of Rs 1.55 billion from NLD services, Rs 1.13 billion from internet service providers, and Rs 0.25 billion from the IP1 segment during the October–December quarter of 2025-26. It also posted ICT revenues of Rs 0.54 billion, which include data centre services, along with other operating income of Rs 30 million. Meanwhile, revenue from the project work services segment stood at Rs 5.63 billion in the third quarter of 2025-26, compared with Rs 5.83 billion in the previous quarter.

RailTel has intensified its focus on the data centre segment and has partnered with Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited to roll out nearly 102 edge data centres across the country.

Further, the CMD said the company is witnessing growing traction from agreements signed with Anant Raj and Tata Consultancy Services, which are contributing to business momentum going forward.
