RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Limited to jointly develop and execute Data Centre projects across India and abroad.
The MoU establishes a strategic partnership wherein both organisations will combine their capabilities to manage data centre projects from start to finish. RailTel will be responsible for planning, designing, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining IT-related infrastructure, including computing hardware, network systems, security frameworks, and disaster recovery solutions.
NBCC, in turn, will utilise its civil infrastructure expertise to manage the construction of data centre buildings and related passive infrastructure. Its scope of work will include contract management, construction supervision, cost control, quality assurance, and project handover.
Further, the collaboration also envisions international expansion, with proposed projects in countries such as Vietnam, Mauritius, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and several African nations. Each initiative will be governed by a separate agreement and may involve third-party partners as needed.
