RailTel has bagged an order worth Rs 2.94 billion from Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC). The project involves the implementation of an integrated solution that will enable end-to-end computerisation and connectivity of core and support functions of TASMAC for a period of five years.

Under the agreement, RailTel will leverage its expertise in telecom infrastructure services to ensure a comprehensive implementation of the integrated solution. This endeavour will enable TASMAC to optimise its core and support functions, thereby empowering the organisation to provide improved services to its stakeholders and customers. RailTel’s scope of work will involve providing end-to-end computerisation of its operations which includes design, development, and deployment of the application; providing data centre and data recovery centre infrastructure which includes clustering for two-way disaster recovery operations; providing IT infrastructure and services for the TASMAC system; data digitisation, master data creation, and migration of historic data; internet connectivity at various locations; deployment of help desk and manpower; and operation, maintenance, and management the entire hardware and software system for five years.

By undertaking this project, RailTel aims to provide TASMAC with a robust technological infrastructure that will enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and facilitate seamless connectivity across various functions.
