Raghunandan to take charge as new secretary of TRAI; Sunil Kumar Gupta appointed as senior deputy DDG of DoT

Raghunandan will take charge as the new secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

The move follows the completion of Sunil Kumar Gupta’s two-month extension till May 31, 2021, as secretary, TRAI.

Gupta is now appointed as a senior deputy director general (DDG), telecom, in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). In his current role, Gupta will oversee all field units under the 22 licensed service areas (LSA). Gupta had taken over as TRAI secretary in September 2017. Before his current role, he was principal advisor broadcasting and cable services at TRAI.

Earlier, Raghunandan was working as a deputy director general at the DoT.
