Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Limited (QTIL) intends to invest $3 billion in 2008-09 for business expansion. The company plans to increase its telecom tower count from about 4,500 to 10,000 by March 2009. QTIL is also learnt to be at an advanced stage of negotiations with TTSL to buy stake in the latter’s telecom tower business. Further, the Ruia-led Essar Group is reportedly in talks with QTIL for a possible merger of its telecom tower business subsidiary, Essar Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited with QTIL.
