Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has proposed an investment of Rs 1.75 billion for its research and development (R&D) unit at Whitefield in Bengaluru, projecting the creation of 1,553 jobs. Qualcomm already has an R&D unit in Bengaluru, and the fresh investment is part of the company’s expansion plans.

The company’s investment proposal in Bengaluru is one of the 62 investments cleared by Karnataka’s state-level single window clearance committee (SLSWCC). These investments are worth Rs 36.07 billion.

Furthermore, the committee has approved eight projects, each with more than Rs 500 million investment, for a total of Rs 20.88 billion.
