
Qualcomm?s revenues for the second quarter ended March 30, 2014 stood at $6.37 billion, recording a 4 per cent growth on year-on-year (y-o-y) basis. The company?s operating and net income for the quarter under review stood at $1.99 billion and $1.96 billion, respectively.
Further, Qualcomm?s operating cash flow declined by 18 per cent (y-o-y) to reach $1.81 billion.
In terms of key business metrics, the MSM chip shipment during the second quarter of 2014, stood at 188 million, up by 9 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
Commenting on the company?s performance, Steve Mollenkopf, chief executive officer, Qualcomm Incorporated, said, ?The company?s performance was driven by high demand for its multimode 3G/long term evolution chipset solutions and record licensing revenues. We continue to see increasing demand for our industry-leading chipsets and strong growth in calendar year 2014 of 3G/4G smartphones around the world.?
Going forward, Qualcomm forecasts reaching revenues worth $6.2 billion to $6.8 billion for the third quarter of 2014. For the full year 2014, the company is hopeful of achieving total revenues of about $26.0 billion to $27.5 billion.
