Qualcomm has resolved its conflict over royalty rates with CDMA operators, including Reliance Communications Limited (RCL).

RCL had earlier stated that Qualcomm’s high royalty rates were a hurdle in providing low-cost handsets. However, Qualcomm has now stated that it has found a way to reduce handset prices without reducing royalty. Handset prices have decreased from $40 in 2006 to about $25 currently.
