Qualcomm and Huawei Technologies have signed a technology transfer agreement for advanced Node B (base station) receiver designs. Under the agreement, technology transferred by Qualcomm will enable Huawei to deploy highly advanced 3G networks using any UMTS-based technology. The agreement covers a new technology that can boost the data throughput performance of high speed uplink packet access networks by up to 60 per cent.
