Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Google have extended their long-standing collaboration to build next-generation of wearables, such as smartwatches, based on the reduced instruction set computer-five (RISC-V) open-source architecture.

This collaboration will help pave way for more products within Android ecosystem to leverage custom central processing units (CPUs) that are low power and high performance. Further, the companies will continue to invest in Snapdragon Wear platforms as the smartwatch silicon provider for the Wear OS ecosystem.

However, the commercial launch date of the product will be announced later.
