Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Limited (QTIL) is close to signing a partnership agreement with the hived-off tower arm of TTSL, Wireless Tata Telecom Infrastructure (WTTL). Reportedly, QTIL will transfer all its telecom assets, which include 5,500 towers, to WTTL and will also invest additional funds in the Tataowned company in return for a 49 per cent stake in the merged entity. The merged company will have around 20,000 towers, which will be significantly more than the capacity of other stand-alone tower companies like Essar Telecom Tower and Infrastructure, GTL, Xcel Telecom and TowerVision.
