In continuation of the 2G spectrum case, it is believed that the probe on P. Chidambaram, Minister of Home Affairs? alleged role in the 2G spectrum case will continue in mid-March 2012, say news reports.
Prior to this, Prashant Bhushan, on behalf of petitioner Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL), had filed a petition against him, on grounds that he was a party to the 2G spectrum pricing issue.
The CPIL has contended that Chidambaram the then finance minister, was involved in the fixing of 2G license prices and was thus as accountable as former Minister of Communications and IT, A. Raja, in the case.
Also, the Supreme Court, in its verdict on the 2G spectrum case, had said that the Central Bureau of Investigation?s (CBI) special court could hear the matter. Thereafter, the CBI Court had decided that Chidambaram would not be made a co-accused in the case.
However, CPIL had raised the issue once again, citing evidence given in court during the case?s proceedings.
