The Planning Commission is expected to shortly publish a report, suggesting changes to the existing spectrum management model, including pricing and allocation of spectrum in the future.

According to Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Planning, Science and Technology and Parliamentary Affairs, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) sought the Commissions? feedback on the suggestions of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. He added that the Commission has already held a preliminary discussion round and will soon publish their recommendations.

The Commission will submit the report to DoT and later to the Cabinet. It will also examine issues like linking prices of 2G spectrum with those of 3G spectrum.
