Penalty to be imposed on the erstwhile Hutchison Essar for push-to-talk services: Milind Deora

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Milind Deora, Minister of State for Communications and IT said that the government is currently determining the penalty to be imposed on the erstwhile Hutchison Essar (now Vodafone Essar) for providing push to talk services in various circles in violation of telecom licence conditions during 2004-2005.

The operator was offering these services in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai Metro, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (West), Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Rajasthan.
