
Panasonic has introduced its new Eluga series of smartphones in India, with the launch of Eluga U at the starting price of Rs 18,990. The five inch IPS display phone has high definition resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. It is a dual SIM phone powered with quad core Snapdragon processor, internal memory of 16 GB and 2 GB RAM. The other features include 13 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front cameras along with a SD card slot supporting external memory up to 32 GB.
Panasonic has also announced plans to introduce 15 new smartphones in India in order to attain five per cent share in the smartphone market. In 2014, it plans to launch eight new smartphones priced between Rs 16,500 and Rs 20,000. The company has also declared India as its headquarters and shall aggressively expand its operations in the country. It claims to have three per cent share in the smartphone market currently.
