
Pakistan’s Wateen Telecom, part of Warid Telecom International, has employed Motorola’s 802.16e WiMax solution for nationwide network deployment as part of its plan to design and deploy a wireless broadband voice and data network across the country. The initial deployment is expected to be completed by mid-2006. Wateen Telecom will offer broadband data services covering the residential and corporate voice, internet access, corporate IP (internet provider), virtual private network (VPN) and public hotspots.
